 There's a lot of ways to lose,
I'm sure you can relate.
No matter who you are,
Someday you'll be a casualty of fate.
 They say hard work's the common thread
When success is labeled great.
But for every win, there is a loss,
And a casualty of fate.
  Might be a contest, but let's get one thing straight:
  Don't call it victory when there's a casualty of fate.
 Once I was a winner; man, I couldn't wait.
I tackled every obstacle, I did not hesitate.
Fell into a trap from which I could not extricate.
No one to blame; just a casualty of fate.
  Might be a contest, but let me reiterate:
  Please don't claim victory when there's a casualty of fate.
 Well, I made my way back up on my feet;
Could not capitilate.
Pulled up on my bootstraps;
Had to reinvigorate.
 Now I've found my way again,
But I'll try to insulate
From the ever-present risk to be
A casualty of fate. (4x)
